What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home? I'm a first grade teacher - currently taking a leave from the classroom, but looking forward to teaching again in the future.
What is your favorite food? Baked treats are my weakness - I love pastries, cookies and cupcakes!
What is your favorite beverage? Sparkling water
What is your favorite movie? Forrest Gump - it's one of those movies I've seen so many times, but will always watch again.
What is one thing that people might not know about you? My greatest adventure was the summer after college when I worked at a school and travelled in Bangalore, India.
You are given four free hours of babysitting, what would you do? Fight the urge to spend the whole time catching up around the house and go treat myself to a manicure/pedicure and maybe a latte and a good book at a coffee shop.
What is your dream kid-free vacation? I want to go to Santorini, Greece and see the sparkly blue water and white buildings, and of course to try all of the good food.
What is your dream family vacation? I can't wait to take Calvin and high brother to Disneyland someday!
How has becoming a mother changed you? It has made me aware of how quickly life goes by and I'm learning to slow down and enjoy the little moments.
I'm happiest when....I'm watching my husband make Calvin laugh.
What are three things you wish you could go back and tell yourself before having children? 1. SLow down - it really does fly by as fast as everyone says. 2. Have confidence in yourself as a mom. 3. Don't be too hard on yourself - you will learn as you go!
Fondest childhood memory? Christmas mornings with my family and all the fun traditions we had.
Your favorite 'go to' family friendly recipe?
We have been loving fish tacos lately - lightly fried cod or other white fish with a simple coleslaw: chop up a small red cabbage and toss with sour cream, lime juice, salt, pepper, and chives. Serve in warm corn tortillas with an extra squeeze of lime and lots of cilantro - yum! Calvin likes it too :)
